The Subcon exhibition, which takes place at the NEC
Birmingham from 4 to 6 June 2013, is extending its support for UK manufacturers
by sponsoring the participation of the British Turned Parts Association (BTMA) and
its members.
This support includes preferential rates on stands for
member companies, a branded BTMA village within the exhibition, and a stand for
the BTMA to promote its activities and the capabilities of the UK turned parts sector.
BTMA President Martin Lane said: “The British Turned Parts
Manufacturers Association is pleased to announce that on the back of a very
successful attendance at Subcon 2012 it will be taking a stand at Subcon 2013,
along with a growing number of Association member companies.
“The presence at Subcon 2013 of so many of our member
companies shows the increasing importance of the subcontracting business to
British manufacturing and the British economy.
We encourage more BTMA member companies to join us at Subcon 2013 and
will be pleased to meet any other British engineering companies interested in
BTMA membership attending the Subcon show.”
BTMA members already signed up for Subcon include Tenable
Screw, DKW Engineering, Sub CNC Precision, West End Precision, Wealdpark,
Machined Component Systems and Stelstocks – with more due to announce their
participation in the next few weeks.
The partnership with the BTMA follows similar agreements
with Castings UK and the CBM (Confederation of British Metalforming) to support
the UK foundry and metalforming sectors.
Subcon 2013, which takes place alongside the new Advanced
Manufacturing Show and The Engineer Conference, is the UK’s only event
dedicated to contract and subcontract manufacturing.
It covers the complete range of technologies from machining and
turning to fabrication, plastic moulding, electronics, casting and forging,
surface engineering and 3D printing.
Subcon attracts high-level buyers and sourcing teams from leading OEMs
and higher tier companies looking to forge manufacturing partnerships and
benchmark suppliers in a global market. With over three-quarters of its
exhibitors coming from the UK, the show plays a critical role in making sure
that these key buyers put British subcontractors on their shortlist.
Subcon exhibition manager Jon Clark said: “I am delighted
that we have been able to support the BTMA and UK manufacturing in this way. We
have seen for ourselves that there is a growing sense of optimism in the market
and we want to help to sustain it. The strong bookings we have had in the last
two months from UK companies demonstrate their confidence and commitment to growth.
I think that Subcon 2013 is going to be a very successful event for UK
subcontractors and their customers.”
