Leading industry names confirmed for new show

The new Advanced Manufacturing Show has got off to a flying start, with some of the industry’s leading names already confirmed.

The event, which provides a showcase for the latest developments in machine tools, tooling, production software and metrology, runs at the NEC from 4 to 6 June 2013.

Some of the key exhibitors lined up so far include machine tool manufacturers Yamazaki Mazak and XYZ, software experts Delcam and Seiki Systems, tooling manufacturers Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal, ITC and WNT, and an impressive roster of metrology companies, including Renishaw, Hexagon Metrology, Faro and Nikon.

The Advanced Manufacturing Show runs alongside Subcon, the UK event for contract and subcontract manufacturing, and together the two exhibitions will allow visitors across all sectors to meet all their in-house and outsourced manufacturing requirements.

Damien Cleugh, Head of Marketing, Mazak Europe, commented: “We are always keen to demonstrate the latest in advanced metal cutting technology and promote our machines to the widest possible audience.  Our participation at Advanced Manufacturing is recognition of the vital role that trade shows still play in helping potential customers get close to our machines.  Its location, within a short drive of our European Manufacturing plant in Worcester, is ideal in ensuring that our Midlands-based customers will be in attendance.”
Trevor Tolley, General Manager, Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal, said: “The Advanced Manufacturing Show will provide Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal with the ideal opportunity and platform to present their high performance cutting tools for turning, milling, drilling, and boring applications. We will discuss face-to-face with customers old and new the improvements in productivity, the production solutions, inventory reduction and most important, cost savings that can be made by adopting this latest tool technology.”

Tony Pennington, Managing Director of WNT (UK) said the company will be using the event to highlight its latest tooling developments, adding: “The fact that Advanced Manufacturing is co-located with Subcon is a big attraction for WNT.

“The opportunity to exhibit at Advanced Manufacturing is a prime opportunity for us to promote the new tooling developments that will help customers improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.”
Visitors to WNT’s stand will get the opportunity to see the latest cutting tool developments, including the HCN2125 range of turning inserts for stainless steel.
Complementing the Advanced Manufacturing and Subcon exhibitions is a three-day programme of free seminars on practical aspects of manufacturing technology and subcontract sourcing.
Alongside these will be a new two-day conference, organised by The Engineer, highlighting the latest ideas and breaking technologies in manufacturing.
Speaking on behalf of the event organisers, Centaur Exhibitions, Business Development and Portfolio Director Grant Burgham said: “It is clear that the market has welcomed our fresh approach to the manufacturing technology sector. With this group of events we will attract senior engineering and manufacturing buyers from all sectors of manufacturing. We are sure it will prove to be a very successful event for both exhibitors and visitors.”
