Award winning exhibitors

SJC Hutchinson Engineering have been awarded the Most Dynamic Sub-contractor at the Manufacturing Technology Association 2013 Manufacturing Industry Awards.

The company was 1971 and have been at the forefront of the laser cutting subcontracting market for nearly 15 years, ensuring its leading position by implementing strategies such as intense personnel training, both in-house and externally, Lean manufacturing and investing in the latest equipment available to the sector. This has lead to a 51% growth in the last 2 years despite the challenging economic conditions.

Having set up H360, a design and prototyping service 2 years ago to give customers a full design to product service, SJC is now in the process of investing in a new division – Hutchinson Aerotech. The new plant based in Antrim represents a £1.5m investment and will focus on the machining and supply of high-value or non-ferrous materials with particular specialisation in titanium processing.

Also in line for an award is pressworker Clamason, which has announced that Allstar, an insulin pen made by Sanofi India has been selected as a finalist in the 15th Annual Medical Design Excellence Awards competition. As a supplier to a finalist, Clamason manufactures two precision metal components within the insulin delivery device developed in the UK for the Indian market and produced in Gujarat (western India) by Shaily Engineering.
