Fives Industries has added to its capabilities for heavy engineering withthe installation this year of a TOS 20t CNC boring machine with automatic tool changing.
It has also carried out a major rebuild of its 120t Innocenti boring machine.
It now has the capability to manufacture parts up to 200t, including machining, welding and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic assembly. Fives Industries has also a CB certification to nuclear energy standards, and uses quality controllers certified by Cofren for die penetration, magnetic and ultrasonic testing.
With its large machinery park optimized for the production of very large and heavy steel parts it is now opening up its customer base to include the marine and wind energy sectors.
Recent contracts include marine stabilizer blades for Foure-Lagadec, nuclear plant pump housings for AREVA, fabrications for Liebherr mining, turbine housings for Alstom and capstans and winch drums for offshore industry customer Rell.
