UK and offshore sourcing

Shakespeare Engineering has expanded its UK manufacturing to over 100 CNC machines, set up a fast-track service and made major savings for a UK luxury car maker through its offshore sourcing division.

Latest additions to its UK facility include more 5-axis capability and more EDM wire erosion machines. To cope with these it has expanded its factory space – adding a further 20,000 sq ft in the last 18 months. Growth areas include assembly, in-house heat treatment and vacuum brazing.

For quick turnaround on low volumes, Shakespeare’s   FASTTRACK low volume rapid prototyping division can often deliver parts within 24 hours of receiving a drawing – customers come from a range of industries including aerospace, F1 and telecoms.

Finally Shakespeare International  Offshore Sourcing has been sourcing complex machined castings from China for one of the UK’s prestigious luxury car manufacturers.

The parts are pressure die cast, machined and electro-coated,  CMM inspected at Shakespeare’s Suzhou facility and delivered at rate of 2000 a month.

Shakespeare says its customer has seen a massive improvement in quality and significant cost saving, Shakespeare project engineers handle all aspects of manufacture, liaising with
the casting foundry to ensure all quality criteria are met.
